You might have to add the approprate autorun.ini line for Windows and a single scrippt line for Linux. Some skins are great albums, for self paced viewing, in addition to slideshows. You just run that Java applet, drag pictures (or directories) into the program, choose a skin (and it comes with several cool ones) and it packages up the Java and the pictures. I like doing that through JAlbum (amazing piece of freeware). If you just want a CD that runs when you insert the disk into a PC, Mac, or Linux box, there's several Java based slideshows. You really do need to go through a program (like Nero, or better yet, ProShow Gold) that turns the CDs into frames, sized and compressed for DVD, and builds some sort of show script (and possibly a menu structure). Nor do DVD players understand arbitrary sized JPEG files. DVD's don't support Windows executables (or Java, or anything other than some very simple scripting that is propriatary to DVD). Unfortunatly, neither VueSlide nor that MicroSoft "Power Toy" will produce a slideshow that will run in your grandfather's DVD player.
